July 2026<\/time><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\"><strong>Segmentation <br\/><\/strong><br\/> With&nbsp;<strong>Segmentation can <\/strong>help you send more relevant communications to your guests and customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>It\u2019s no secret that recipients want to receive relevant communications\u2014and you probably know this from your own experience and your own inbox.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Segmentation<\/strong> is one of the most obvious paths to success and greater engagement in your newsletters.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>In addition to master data, such as first name, reference, etc., you can also segment based on all the tracking data available in the list. Find more information about this in the section &nbsp;<strong><a href=\"#segmentering-med-tracking-data\">Segmentation Using Tracking Data<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a segment?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A segment consists of a set of rules, and these rules consist of a set of criteria. In Heyloyalty, you can specify at every level whether all rules and criteria must be met before a contact is included in the segment. We call this \u201cAnd\/Or\u201d segmentation.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An example of this is, for instance: I want to target men who are over 25 and interested in shoes, <strong>or<\/strong> who are over 25 and interested in pants.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We offer a selection of standard segmentation fields that you can use to segment your list, for example. These include: when campaigns are <strong>opened<\/strong>, <strong>the<\/strong> member\u2019s <strong>sign-up date<\/strong>, <strong>sent campaigns, and more. <\/strong>In addition, you can segment based on the fields you\u2019ve linked or created in your list. So both the standard fields and the fields you\u2019ve created yourself can be used to create a segment.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create a segment in a list <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click Lists &#8211;&gt; Below, you can read about the options available to you for creating rules: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Create a new rule<\/strong> &#8211; here you can create a new segment  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use the rules from an existing segment<\/strong> \u2014if you want to build on a segment.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can choose whether<strong> &#8220;All&#8221; or <\/strong> <strong>&#8220;Any&#8221;<\/strong> of your rules in the segment must be met in order to include members in it.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, if you select <strong>&#8220;All<\/strong>, <strong>&#8220;<\/strong> a member must comply with all the rules in the segment; otherwise, they will not be included.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If, on the other hand, you select <strong>&#8220;One<\/strong>, <strong>&#8220;<\/strong> the member need only comply with one of the rules.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start by clicking New rule &#8211;&gt; New criterion &#8211;&gt; Choose field to segment on. <\/p>\n\n<figure <\/strong>&gt; <strong><em>Select Field <\/em><\/strong>the subsequent &#8221; <strong>Select Operator <\/strong>&#8221; field will <strong>change <\/strong>its segmentation options depending on the type of field you selected previously.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can segment based on all the information available in your Heyloyalty list. New criterion &#8211;&gt; Choose field &#8211;&gt; Tracking. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From here, you&#8217;ll need to choose what criteria to use for segmentation, and the options are limited only by how much data you send to Heyloyalty.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, you can choose to segment by: <em>Has made a purchase, Has made a purchase (number of times), Has made a purchase (number of products), Number of abandoned carts, Average cart size<\/em><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>etc.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also segment on actions such as Has\/have seen, Has\/have not seen, Has\/have had in cart, Has\/have not had in cart, Has\/have bought, or Have not bought.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, if you create a segment such as <strong>Tracking &#8212; <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Action &#8212; <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Has Purchased<\/strong><em>, you&#8217;ll <\/em>find everyone on the list who has ever made a purchase.
