Set Up an Advanced Product Feed

Contents

This guide shows you how to set up an advanced product feed block in your campaigns. The block gives you more options for customizing which products appear in your newsletter. For example, you can choose to show only products from a specific category.

Step 1 – Import an advanced product feed

If you are not already on Step 2 of the newsletter setup process, navigate there.

Drag the ” Advanced Product Feed ” block into your campaign. You’ll find the block on the left side under ” Layout.”

Step 2 – Configure Product Feed Settings

Under the ” Advanced Product Feed Settings ” tab, you must first select the general settings for the product feed:

    • Products per row: Choose how many products to display in a row in your newsletter.
    • Number of rows: Select how many rows of products to display in your newsletter.
    • Product Feed: Select the product feed from which you want to display products.

Note: If you cannot select search criteria, it is because you have not yet selected a product feed.

    • Template: Select the template that determines the layout for displaying your products. If you are using our default template, do not change this setting.
    • Styling: Here you can define additional CSS styling for your product feed, if needed.

First, select the general settings for your product search:

    • Use fallback products: Select Yes or No, depending on whether you want to display alternative products if the product search does not find any products.
    • Sort by: Select the parameter by which the products should be sorted, such as Product ID.
    • Direction: Select Ascending or Descending depending on the desired sort order. For example, if you select Ascending, the products with the lowest product IDs will be displayed first.

To display products in your advanced product feed, you need to add a search criterion. Click ” Add New Search Criterion.”

Then fill in the following fields:

    • Field: Select the field in your product feed that Heyloyalty should use to find products.
    • Action: Select the action that Heyloyalty should take when the products are found. The available actions depend on the field type you selected in the field mapping for your product feed.
    • Value: Enter the value that the field in the product feed should have. If the value needs to match a field in your contacts, select a merge field. Select the field from the list by clicking { }.

Once you’ve filled in the fields, click ” Add Search Criteria.”

Then click ” Find Products.” The products will now appear in your newsletter, so you can check whether the product search is finding the expected products.

Note: If no products appear when you click ” Find Products,” it’s because Heyloyalty cannot find any products that match the product search you’ve set up.

You can add more search criteria to your product search. Repeat the process above for each search criterion you want to add.

Once you’ve finished setting up your advanced product feed, be sure to save your changes.

    Show specific products

If you want to feature specific products in your newsletter, you should set up a regular product feed instead. Read the guide to setting up a standard product feed to get started.

You have now set up your advanced product feed

You have now set up an advanced product feed and selected which products Heyloyalty should find and display based on your search criteria.
