    2-factor authentication: Why is it necessary?

    2-factor authentication (2FA) is a mandatory part of setting up your account in Heyloyalty.

    A 2FA is an extra layer of security to protect your Heyloyalty account and all the information that goes into it.


    Why 2FA? The simple reason why Heyloyalty has chosen to enable 2FA for all users is to secure your data as much as possible.

    In connection with Heyloyalty’s GDPR compliance, it is essential for data security that all users have enabled 2FA as an extra security measure.

    Why do I have to take out my phone every time I want to log in?
    At first, it can be frustrating to take out your phone every time you want to log in to your Heyloyalty account. However, it is a very small effort to make to increase safety significantly.

    In your Heyloyalty account, there is often a lot of information about your many contacts. Therefore, if your account is compromised, it will not only have consequences for you, but also for all your contacts. If you rely solely on a password you have made up yourself, the risk of this security breach happening is significantly higher than when using 2FA.

    Spending an extra five seconds when logging in doesn’t mean much once it has become a habit.

    How to set up 2FA

    When you log in to Heyloyalty for the first time, you need to set up a 2-factor authentication.

    For this, you need an authenticator app on your phone (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator).

    After entering your email and password, you will be able to see a QR code.

    Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator).

    Enter the 6-digit code from the app on your phone in the Enter one-time password field.

    You will now be directed back to the first login page. Enter the email and password and enter the new 6-digit code from your app on the phone in the Enter one-time password field again.

    You are now logged in.
