Customer Loyalty Center is Heyloyalty’s customer club module that you can use to manage your members’ points and transfer them to your webshop.
Once the module is set up, you can create automated flows based on your customers’ points. You can also use merge fields in your emails to inform each recipient how many points they have earned and remind them to use their points before they expire.
Please note that you must ensure that points and discounts are transferred correctly to your webshop. You can read a guide on how to set this up here.
In this guide, you will get an introduction to the types of customer clubs you can create in the module and examples of how the different customer club types can be used in your business.
Types of customer clubs
In Heyloyalty, there are four different ways to set up your customer club. These are also called earning types. Below you can see a description of the different types:
Point (step)
Customers earn points based on different levels or steps. You set up intervals with off and on amounts where the customer earns a certain number of points. Read how to set this up in Heyloyalty
Percentage discount (steps)
Here you also set up intervals with off and on amounts, but instead the customer earns a percentage discount depending on the level. Read how to set it up here.
Point (fast)
Here you set up one rule with an off and on amount where the customer earns a fixed number of points. Read how to set it up here.
External point sharing (API)
Via your API, you can send your customers’ points to Heyloyalty and use them in your newsletters. Read how to set it up here.
Which earning type should you choose?
The choice depends on what you want your customer club to do. Below we provide a general understanding of when the different types are relevant.
Point (step):
This type is suitable if you want to work with loyalty and levels, such as Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Makes sense when:
- You want to reward your best customers more than new customers
- You want to create incentives to shop more often or for larger amounts
- You work with VIP/loyalty levels
Examples:
An online store where customers earn more points the more they buy:
- 200-500 kr –> 10 points earned
- 501-1000 kr. → 20 points earned
- 1001-1500 kr. → 30 points earned
Percentage discount (steps):
This type works in the same way as Points (tier), but instead of points, the customer earns a percentage discount. For example, the levels can be Member, VIP and Elite.
Makes sense when:
- You will give customers a fixed benefit based on their level
- You want to make it simple and clear to the customer: “the more you shop, the bigger the discount”
- You work with VIP clubs or membership benefits
Examples:
Customer club with fixed discount levels:
- 0-999 kr. → 5% discount
- 1000-4999 kr. → 10% discount
- 5000-10000 kr. → 15% discount
Point (fast):
This type is ideal if you want a simple and fixed reward, for example for birthdays or sign-ups.
Makes sense when:
- You’ll be up and running quickly without complex setup
- You don’t need any more steps
- You want to test the customer club concept
Examples:
- The customer earns 20 points for purchases over DKK 200.
External point sharing (API):
Use this type if you already have a customer club in another system and want to use points data in your campaigns and flows.
Examples:
- Points earned in physical store are sent to Heyloyalty and used in emails
- Personalized emails: “You have 1,250 points – use them before they expire”
- Explain to your members through email marketing that they have earned points
- Segmentation: e.g. send campaigns to customers with many points
Get started with your customer club
With Customer Loyalty Center, you have a flexible solution to build and work strategically with your customer club – whether you want to reward loyalty, increase purchase value or build stronger relationships with your customers.
The choice of earning type depends on your goals and your business, but what they all have in common is that they can help drive engagement and repeat purchases.
Once your customer club is set up, we recommend that you actively use your data in both campaigns and automated flows. By communicating customers’ point status and reminding them to use their earned benefits, you can increase both relevance and conversion in your communication.
